These terms are the agreement between you and Ask Earl for using the Ask Earl app. By using Ask Earl, you agree to them.
Ask Earl is not therapy
Ask Earl offers general relationship support and suggestions written with the help of AI. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional. Use your own judgment about what to say and do.
Not for emergencies
If you or anyone else is in danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number). For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. For domestic violence support, call 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.
AI can be wrong
Plans, reflections, and replies are generated by AI and may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. You are responsible for how you use them.
Your account
You must be at least 18 to use Ask Earl. Keep your login details private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Subscriptions
Earl Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. Prices and billing periods are shown before you buy. Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
Acceptable use
Don't use Ask Earl to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, to break the law, or to try to disrupt or reverse engineer the service.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Ask Earl to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and ending
We may update Ask Earl and these terms. If changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app. You can stop using Ask Earl and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Liability
Ask Earl is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Ask Earl is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including outcomes in your relationship.
Apple
If you downloaded Ask Earl from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
